Antilibrary
Last updated: May 22, 2026James's Coffee Blog has an excellent post titled 100 things you can do on your personal website, which I've had open in a pinned tab since he published it (2 years now). I love to read through it and think about what silly things I could add to my site, and then not add them. Today, I'm gonna add one, #23: "Make an antilibrary where you list the books you own but have not or do not plan to read."
Books I have not started
- The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin
- The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin
- The Passenger & Stella Maris by Cormac McCarthy
- Call for the Dead, A Murder of Quality, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, The Looking Glass War by John le Carré
- A Small Town in Germany by John le Carré
Books I've started
- Axiom's End by Lindsey Ellis
I read less than a chapter and set it aside when it first came out. The writing didn't hook me, but I think I should at least give it more than 2 pages. - Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson
This style of fiction sucks ass. Lifeless prose, really boring "action" scenes that go on and on and on, a video game understanding of magic. I made it like 1/3 the way in and gave up, there's no way I'm reading more.
Books I will never start
- The C++ Programming Language by Bjarne Stroustrup
