About
i'm Noah. deetz: (he/him/his) - cis - straight - white - millenial
i created my first website in 1995, a 3 page geocites site about world war 2, handcrafting every line of html and hosting my very first 5-paragraph essay. ever since then, i've found means and methods of posting my thoughts on the internet; i begged my way into a Livejournal invite code and posted on that until college, i wrote on every forum i had a passing interest in, i put my rants on facebook, i argued on tumblr, i fell in love with cohost, and here i am with a few scattered blogs written in 2016 that i've somehow carried forward.
i am a software developer in the Greater Cincinnati Metro area, living live in the suburbs with my wife and our three children. this is basically the life i dreamed of as a kid (tho back then i didn't understand what programming actually meant and my lit-focused luddite parents didn't know how to help me). the things i've written on this site are mostly written for this site, but the majority of posts from 2023 and 2024 are copied over from my time on the defunct site cohost, may eggbug rest in pepperonis.
i tend to write about my software projects, media i'm experiencing (books, music, video games), and funny anecdotes about my family life.
i think everyone should have a fun little website. it's nice to have a place i can put stuff that is categorically mine and where i get to choose fully how it looks and how it works. i hope that this site brings some joy or levity to readers, but if it doesn't, that's cool too cuz you can just go somewhere else. not every space is for every person.
